Zeenatuddeen Muhammad, Ph.D, is a Principal Environmental Health Officer with the Environmental Health Council of Nigeria (EHCON), a licensed Environmental Health Consultant, public health microbiologist, and One Health researcher with expertise in antimicrobial resistance (AMR), environmental surveillance, wastewater-based epidemiology, and infectious disease epidemiology.

She recently completed her Ph.D in Public and Environmental Health Microbiology and has contributed to research on antimicrobial resistance surveillance, wastewater-associated pathogens, and community-based public health interventions in Nigeria. Her work focuses on integrating environmental health, laboratory surveillance, and One Health approaches to strengthen disease prevention, public health preparedness, and evidence-based decision-making.

Dr. Zeenatuddeen Muhammad is the Founder and Technical Lead of EcoMed Nexus Foundation, a nonprofit organization advancing innovative solutions in environmental health, AMR prevention, climate-health resilience, and community health promotion. She is passionate about developing practical innovations and sustainable solutions to address environmental health challenges, particularly in resource-limited settings. Her work bridges research, policy, and community action to improve population health outcomes.

She has led and supported several public health initiatives involving AMR awareness, WASH interventions, disease surveillance, health data analytics, and capacity building for health professionals and communities. She has authored peer-reviewed scientific publications and presented her work at national and international conferences.

In 2026, she was admitted into the Advanced Nigeria Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Programme (NFELTP), Laboratory Track, further strengthening her expertise in epidemiology, laboratory systems, and public health emergency response.
Her professional interests include antimicrobial resistance, wastewater surveillance, environmental health, One Health, disease surveillance, public health microbiology, climate-health resilience, health systems strengthening, and innovation for sustainable environmental health solutions.
